Just a quick observation.
So much of what mentally ails us can be alleviated through hard work. Whenever I start feeling down, that life and everyone is against me, and that I’ll never be where I want to be, I know that the most direct way to start feeling perky again is to do some productive work.
Washing dishes, cleaning up the yard, exercising – all of these things really have the power to make your day better.
Productivity begets productivity, sloth begets sloth. Start by doing something (anything) productive, and it will start you down the right path.

Hmm. Yes. I too have observed this. There *is* a balance, it’s easy for an achiever like me to go too far with this idea, but it’s usually easier to tell when you’ve gone too far than when you haven’t gone far enough.
It helps even more if you’re working for someone else, just to make their day nicer. Especially when you have something “more important” to do. That’s tops. 🙂
